Ordering Animals
Animal Procurement Policy and Procedure
All animals must be procured through CCM (formerly CLAC) business office
(860-679-2731).
The PI can place the order through GRANITE using their
approved protocol number and animal specifics (weight, age,
sex, strain etc.). The CCM approves the order placed
through Granite.
Deadlines: The deadline for ordering from
commercial vendors through the CCM office is Wednesday at 12:01
p.m. for
animals to be delivered the following week.
The scheduled shipment of research animals from the approved
vendors are as follows:
- Harlan®, Millbrook® – Tuesday
- Jackson® – Wednesday
- Taconic® – Thursday
- Charles River® – Tuesday and Thursday
All non-commercial vendors are considered as Import/Export
and are processed by Veterinary Services.
